A call for help-

I’m sure most of you are aware of the earthquake that hit Haiti on the 12th of January this year. Dear Jeanne, along with Blogger Aid- Changing the face of famine is organising an online raffle to help the victims of the earthquake that shook the residents of Haiti. They still continue to live in apalling conditions, and are in urgent need of basic supplies, one of the major ones being the supply of water. Concern worldwide has been chosen as the charity beneficiary. This non-governmental international humanitarian organisation founded in 1968 works around the world to reduce suffering and work towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries.
All this came about after a first hand account of the sad plight of the people in Haiti, given by one of Jeanne’s closest friends, a qualified Boeing 747 pilot, who had volunteered to fly a plane full of relief supplies from Paris to Haiti.
Here’s where you come in and can offer a helping hand for those who need it most. Remember, no help is big or small. Every donation that you make will go help in easing the suffering. And yes, there are some fabulous prizes to bid for as well. I wish I could have donated a prize too, but being ill the past week, and not having checked the spam meant that I missed Jeanne’s email which happened to land there! But then, its not too late, and I still can help by buying tickets for the raffle, which I am going to do, and so can you.
